Request for Proposals – Cherry Street Parking Lot Redevelopment – Downtown Des Moines, IA

Polk County (IA) is initiating a Request for Proposals (RFP) with assistance from the City of Des Moines for redevelopment of its Cherry Street Parking Lot. Currently a public and employee surface parking lot, the Cherry Street Lot is approximately 2 acres in size and is centrally located within Downtown Des Moines. The County and City are seeking an experienced development team to create a unique mixed-use project that “fills” the site and is catalytic for future development opportunities that currently exist in this portion of Downtown. Responses to this RFP are due on March 31, 2025 by 11:59pm. AIA Indiana State Associate Representative (STAR) – 2025-2026 Term – Call for Candidates

Every two years, AIA Indiana nominates an Associate AIA member to represent the state on the National Associates Committee. Submissions are now being accepted for the NAC State Associate Representative (STAR) of Indiana for the 2025 – 2026 term. This is a tremendous opportunity to take on a larger leadership role within the AIA. This rewarding experience will allow you to be actively engaged in shaping the future of the profession and to grow your network with the NAC, Young Architects Forum (YAF), and the AIA both regionally and nationally. The deadline to apply for this position is June 7. Interested candidates will be invited to attend the AIA Indiana Board meeting on July 16, scheduled between 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. via Zoom, to introduce themselves and articulate why they should be considered for this role. AIA Indiana Strategic Council Representative – 2025-2027 Term – Call for Candidates

The AIA Indiana Board of Directors is actively seeking passionate individuals interested in serving as the AIA Indiana Strategic Council Representative. The Strategic Council plays a pivotal role in advancing the architectural profession by keeping the Board of Directors and other AIA entities informed about crucial professional matters and opportunities. Its mandate includes identifying both opportunities and threats within the profession, engaging in strategic planning, and shaping AIA’s goals and objectives for the future. 2024 AIA Indiana Service Awards Call for Nominations

AIA Indiana has a long tradition of honoring architects and community members and leaders for the impact they have made on the architecture profession and design in their communities through its annual AIA Service Awards. AIA Indiana invites its members to submit nominations for the following awards: Edward D. Pierre Award; Juliet Peddle Award; Walter S. Blackburn Award; Distinguished Firm Award; Tony Costello Young Architect Award; Next Gen Award; Gold Medal Award. CLICK HERE to learn more. 


2024 AIA Indiana Design Awards – Call for Submissions

All AIA Indiana member architects in good standing who have led the design of completed projects inside or outside of Indiana are invited to compete for Honor, Merit, and Citation Design Awards. Also, AIA member architects outside of Indiana in good standing and who are responsible for the lead role in designing projects located in Indiana are invited to compete. If a project had both a design architect and an architect-of-record, submissions must include the names of both.  The awards will be presented during the AIA Indiana Convention on Friday, August 16 at the 16 Tech Innovation District, in downtown Indianapolis, IN. AIA Indiana AXP Friendly Firm Recognition

AIA Indiana AXP Friendly Firm Recognition – The AIA Indiana AXP Friendly Firm award is a newly established annual designation approved by the AIA Indiana Board of Directors this year. This accolade aims to provide a clearer, more accessible route for individuals pursuing licensure. Participation in this program is voluntary. CLICK HERE to learn more.
