2026 AIA Indiana Emerging Professional (EP) Friendly/Exemplary Firm Recognition
The AIA Indiana Emerging Professional (EP) Friendly/Exemplary Firm Recognition is a designation approved by the AIA Indiana Board of Directors in 2024. This accolade aims to provide a clearer, more accessible route for individuals pursuing licensure. The goal of the program is to celebrate firms who offer exceptional support and opportunities for their early professionals. Two designations are possible for a firm to receive: the AIA Indiana EP Friendly Firm or the AIA Indiana EP Exemplary Firm designation. EP Friendly and EP Exemplary Firms will be recognized at the 2026 AIA Indiana Convention, which is scheduled for Friday, November 13, at the Dallara IndyCar Factory in Speedway, Indiana. Also, EP Friendly and EP Exemplary Firms will be featured on the AIA Indiana Website and may use the EP Friendly Logo or EP Exemplary Logo for marketing purposes in the year shown on the logo. July AIA Indianapolis/CSI Indianapolis Program
Join AIA Indianapolis and CSI Indianapolis on Thursday, July 16, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at The Rathskeller in downtown Indianapolis for a special joint program exploring the largest healthcare construction project in North America, the Indiana University Health Adult Academic Health Center Hospital. Presenters Jane Everett, AIA (BSA), Jeff Olsen, AIA (CSO), and Chris Meier, AIA (RATIO), all principals and senior project managers with CURIS Design, will share insights into the creation of the CURIS joint venture and the challenges of delivering a 2.6-million-square-foot, 860-bed academic medical center. Attendees will learn about joint venture best practices, large-project delivery and construction sequencing, AHJ approvals, and effective team collaboration strategies. AIA Indiana invites members to submit nominations/submissions for the following awards: Edward D. Pierre Award; Juliet Peddle Award; Walter S. Blackburn Award; Distinguished Firm Award; Tony Costello Young Architect Award; Next Gen Award; and the Gold Medal Award. The design and service awards will be presented at the 2026 AIA Indiana Convention, which is scheduled for November 13, at the Dallara IndyCar Factory in downtown Speedway, IN. The submission deadline for both the 2026 design and service awards is July 24, 2026.

AIA Fort Wayne July Program
All members are invited to the AIA Fort Wayne July Program, which features a sneak peek tour of the interior spaces at the IU Health Hospital in Fort Wayne. This tour will serve as a follow-up to the tour held earlier this spring and will highlight the interior spaces of IU Health’s $421 million hospital in southwest Allen County. 2025 AIA Indiana Design Award Winners
This year’s design awards were presented during the 2025 AIA Kentucky/AIA Indiana Convention on Friday, September 19, at the Central Bank Center in downtown Lexington, KY. Through the Design Awards program, AIA Indiana asks a jury of peers to select projects by leading Indiana registered architects that serve as a tribute to design excellence. This year’s jury was from AIA Oklahoma and chaired by Lisa Chronister, FAIA. Other jurors included: Joshua Hill, AIA – Studio Architecture; Sally Talley, AIA – Winterrowd Talley Architects; Shane Aaron, AIA – Narrate Design; and Brian Freese, AIA – Freese Architecture. This year there were 51 entries and 16 winners. All design award recipients were selected by the jury — with two exceptions. The H. Roll McLaughlin 25 Year Award and the Legacy Award were reviewed and selected by the 2025 AIA Indiana FAIA Design Awards Task Force. CLICK HERE to view this year’s winning submissions.
AIA Northern Indiana July Program
All members are invited to the AIA Northern Indiana July Program, Architectural Design with Cast Stone, which will introduce attendees to the fundamental characteristics and benefits of cast stone as an architectural material. The program has been approved for 1.0 AIA HSW LU and is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EDT at the Chicory Event Center in Mishawaka, Indiana.
