Indiana High School Architectural Design Competition – The Architecture State Championship
This year’s competition “Igniting Change” encourages students to think about how the design of a building relates to its surroundings and its community. Students will be asked to design a new fire station in a small historic downtown. This multi-dimensional program presents many layers of complexity for design exploration and should be an engaging challenge for any student at any skill level who is interested in art, architecture, drafting, or interior design. Through the Design Awards program, AIA Indiana asks a jury of peers to select projects by leading Indiana registered architects that serve as a tribute to design excellence. This year’s jury was from AIA Nebraska and chaired by James Walbridge, FAIA – Shive-Hattery.
