AIA Indianapolis BONUS April Program – The Hoosier Modernisms of Evans Woollen

Discover the lasting influence of renowned Modernist architect Evans Woollen (1927-2016) on Indianapolis’s architectural landscape at this April Indianapolis BONUS Program on Wednesday, April 15, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., at Ball State University CAP: INDY, 25 North Pine St., Indianapolis, IN 46202. From celebrated public spaces such as Clowes Hall and the Minton-Capehart Federal Building to distinctive private homes, Woollen’s visionary designs continue to shape the city’s identity. In this one-hour presentation, author Phillip Cox and photographer Niall Cronin will explore Woollen’s body of work and lasting legacy. Featuring newly uncovered archival photographs, the program traces the evolution of Woollen’s career and his complex relationship with his hometown, highlighting his enduring impact in Indiana and drawing from their new book, What a Building Does: The Hoosier Modernisms of Evans Woollen.
