In 2025, manufacturers will be required to use low GWP to meet the maximum GWP requirements set by the U.S. EPA. To meet these requirements, manufacturers are being forced to use more 2L rated refrigerants that increase the flammability rating of these refrigerants. This increase in flammability requires more safety precautions during design that impact mechanical and other disciplines, including architectural.
