This presentation, scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Ball State University CAP: INDY, 25 North Pine Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202, introduces the Sustainability Project Index (SPI), a custom framework developed to help teams establish and integrate sustainability goals early in the design process in alignment with the LEEDv5 Integrative Process credit. The tool supports the development of an Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR) document while helping teams navigate the rating system’s core impact areas: decarbonization, quality of life, and ecological conservation and restoration. All AIA Indianapolis member architects in good standing who have led the design of completed projects inside or outside of Indiana are invited to compete for Honor, Merit, and Citation Design Awards. If a project had both a design architect and an architect-of-record, submissions must include the names of both. Projects are only eligible to receive an award if the work was done by an AIA Indianapolis member whose firm is within the AIA Indianapolis Section. The awards will be presented at the AIA Indianapolis Design Excellence Awards Gala, which is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. Spend lunchtime on Tuesday, July 14, at the Central Library with fellow members of AIA Indianapolis’ Women in Architecture for a tour of the recently renovated Children and Teen spaces. The tour will examine how the project team balanced the needs of patrons and staff through thoughtful approaches to safety, comfort, visibility, supervision, and literacy-centered learning. YAF Indy ARE Study Group – Please note, the study group meeting dates, time, and location has been updated.
Join us for the YAF Indy ARE Study Group, an ongoing initiative designed to support emerging architects preparing for the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). Each study group session will focus on whichever divisions the attending group would like to review. In the current 5.0 version of the exams, the divisions are comprehensive, so studying for any one division will support preparation across all of them.
