Continuing education requirements for registered Architects in the State of Indiana - 24 Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are required every two years. The next deadline is Dec. 31, 2017. Sixteen of the 24 CEU’s must be health, safety, and welfare education (HSW).

Course Description:

The course will provide a thorough exploration of code applications to existing buildings, including maintenance, alterations, change of occupancy, and additions to existing buildings. 

The course will focus primarily on how and to what extent the current Indiana Building Code applies to existing buildings within the context of maintenance, alterations, change of occupancy, and additions to existing buildings. However, the course will also explore concepts affecting the application of accessibility, energy conservation, and other codes to existing buildings under a variety of conditions. 

The course will include an extensive evaluation of change of occupancy of existing buildings, including a tutorial of utilizing Chapter 34 with specific examples. Because of the broad scope and potential varied subjects of interest of this topic, attendees are encouraged to bring specific questions for discussion.
